_   For our book club we had to choose from a variety of books and I ended up with the book The Barcode Tattoo, at first I didn’t know what to expect of this book because I am not a big reader but after starting the book I realized that it was actually a good plot and the way it was written was very good.

The main plot of the book is it’s about a sixteen year old girl named Kayla, she lives in America in the year 2025. There is a tattoo which is a barcode that has replaced lots of things like you no longer have to use or carry a credit card they can just scan your arm, the eliminated the need for a health card and driver’s  license because everything about you is  represented in your barcode. This all sounds good though, you get it when your sixteen and suddenly life is easier, but not in Kayla’s case. There are a group of people called the resistance that think the barcode is evil and can kill you, at first Kayla was hesitant about it but when her father took his own life it became clear to her that it was evil.

Growing up Kayla always had her best friend Amber to help her through things but amber ended up moving out to live with relatives when her father’s tattoo started to not work for some unknown reason.  Kayla wanted to know what the tattoo was really about so she asked her neighbor about it because he was the one that was doing them. He said he wanted to know to, but when he found out what was in it he was shot and killed before he could tell anyone.

Throughout the rest of the book Kayla continues to resist the tattoo and keeps trying to find out what it is really about.  She stays with a few friends that are all doing the same thing. After her father’s death her mother had turned into a serious drinker and had lost her job. As she knew it Kayla’s life was crashing all around her but she kept on pursuing her goal of not getting the tattoo which doesn’t look to well for her.

All and all this was a good book and I actually enjoyed the book. If anyone else doesn’t like to read or even likes to anyway I would recommend this book to you.

During a regular mothers day day parade in New Orleans something went wrong, a man in a white t shirt and dark pants opened fire on the parade leaving 19 people wounded from the gunfire.

The victims included 10 men, 7 women and a boy and girl both 10 years old. they found the suspect on may 16th, the mans name was Akein Scott. Akein had a record police record involving drug and weapon charges, courts show that some of the charges had been dropped but he was still facing the charge of carrying an illegal weapon while in the possession of a controlled dangerous substance.

A video was released on Monday showing showing a crowd of people running in all different directions with some falling to the ground. As many as 400 people were at the event and this has sparked a new battle on gun control.

Yesterday a friend and I watched a video of people playing hardcore minecraft with only one life and it looked like they were having fun so we sent a message to some more of our friends asking if they wanted to join in one with us, we had a few people say yes.

After school when we all got home I created a server and people started to join in, we assigned jobs to people (miner farmer house builder etc.) we found a crevasse and converted it into a nice huge home with and indoor farm and and mine over the coarse of about 3 hours. when we built the nether portal our youngest friend Eddie went through and ended up getting killed by a ghast, the same ghast decided to put out our nether portal so I had to relight it.

Eddie was kicked from the game because you only have 1 life, we went back in to kill the ghast but it killed our other friend Sam. I ran back to the regular world and decided to just save and continue tomorrow before we all died.

One of the best feelings (or in the top 10) is being able to wear shorts after a long cold winter. A very disappointing feeling is when you are almost done September and the season of wearing shorts comes to a crashing end, you brace for a cold winter of thick jeans, sweatpants and sweaters.
Throughout the awful weather you just remember that soon you will be able to wear your beloved short and t-shirt combo which helps you get through the sort cold days. After a few weeks you start to forget what it felt like to wear shorts and not have to have 3 sweaters and a jacket on to go outside. but before you know it the long winter starts to slowly leave and you can see the sun again you have regained some hope. Although it isn't quite warm enough for shorts and a t-shirt yet you can migrate to a pair of thin pants and long sleeve shirts and get back into the mindset of "I can wear shorts soon". You wake up one morning and you can already feel it, the hot sun coming through your windows, you jump out of bed (you actually want to go back to sleep and get up in an hour but you get what I mean) and you put on your shorts and t-shirt and are ready to go out into the beautiful weather, Awesome!

I'm a big Call of Duty "fan-boy" and hearing about the new zombies map-pack Mob of the dead got me existed. looking at the trailer over and over let me notice new things each time, the first thing I noticed was the zombies eyes being red instead of yellow or blue like the previous maps. There were other things like the afterlife, the keys, the dog in the wall and of course the new weapon.

On Tuesday April 16 I was able to download the new map and play it after school with a friend and everything about it looked awesome but while playing it I noticed some setbacks. One of them was there are no places to horde or kite the zombies in order to make it to high rounds, I like just running from place to place but I still have to get use to the very small halls rather than black ops 1 Ascension where the whole map is open.

The second setback was the afterlife challenges were hard to figure out and had me resort to YouTube to find out how to get the key that opens everything. I do like how the took the time to really work on the maps design with all of the doors to open and places to go it created a fun experience that I will keep playing for a while.

I never really understood the WRDSB logic, a little bit of rain and schools cancelled meanwhile trees are everywhere and cars are frozen but we still have to go. wake up as usual and get dressed, go eat breakfast and start to leave and boom the radio says "the following schools are cancelled" they then proceed to say the name of your school. You make your way back too bed and think why didn't the announce this earlier.
There also are the day where it looks like The day after tomorrow, where every thing is frozen and trees have fallen down so you rightfully assume that there will be no school. you continue sleeping until your mom runs in and yells wake up you are going to be late, so in your sleep deprived state you hurry up and get dressed while skipping breakfast so you can be on time. You make your way through the terrible streets almost getting hit by those random cars that didn't wipe off their winds shield and stumble into school wondering why you had to come. so you sit through the rest of the day miserable and just wanting to go home. Thank you WRDSB for your wise decision and thinking about every one else's  saftey

On march 27 (yesterday) a whole bunch of schools all got together and went to ted-x Waterloo to listen to the 15 speakers that talked about "finding home" and their struggles and how they overcame them.

Through out the very long 7ish hours we heard a variety of different stories ranging from starting out with nothing and gaining what they wanted, to people who just wanted to help others in life and do what they love to do.

After we heard multiple people talk about how they did what they did and do what they do, we were able to go for lunch. They had pre made food boes that included a sandwich, apple, cookie and vegtibles. the food was good and after we were done eating we were aloud to walk arond and see everything.

During the second part of the show we were able to listen to more people talk about what it is that they do and why the do it. My favorite person that went up would be the boxer, I thought he was really cool and his speech was interesting. He talked about growing up and how he got into what he does. His main message was to work hard and if something is right, do it right.

Overall I think that it was a good trip with many lessons that were learned and I think alot of people would feel the same way. So I think many oher people would enjoy it if they got the chance to

Today we watched a video about a girl who was a music artist who had based her life off of asking people for money instead of making them pay a flat industry fee for her music. She belived that music shou be free and people should only pay if they really want to.

She started off her career buy being a human statue on the sidwalk and when people would give money shou would in return give them a flower while remaining quiet. She had gone to an ats school for music and had graduated so she formed a band. her and her band had started making their own music and eventually got signed with a record compony. when the album was released it only had 25k sales, that band thought that was great but the lable didn't.

They later droped the lable and sjust started asking people for help (if they could stay at someones house for the night while they are doing a show). She decided to make her music free to her fans because she didn't belive in making people pay for it. they started a fundraiser to get at least 100k but they actually made 1.2 million in donations. Now she lets random people come on stage with heir music and play their own music to get seen. After the concert they would hang out with the fans for hours just talking to them all.

In conclusion I think that people need to have more faith in people when it comes to help and support. I hope that they can continue with their music and

Not realizing how quickly a school day has gone. After waking up in the morning and dragging yourself to school, you struggle to walk through the hallway because your half asleep and your bedhead shows for it you find a group of friends and join into what ever conversation is happening.

You pretend to really listen meanwhile your just trying to wake up and remember what you have to do or what is due today. after standing there for a few minutes waking up you hear the awful sound of the first bell, you actually react a few seconds later and start walking to your class. on your long walk to first period you hear the random 80's music playing over the speakers which encourages you to walk twice as fast to first period.

After sitting down in first you start to doze off and just as you snap back thinking it was only for a few minute, the bell for second goes and the same thing happens there. Before you know it your sitting in last period with only a few minutes left in the class but you cant remember anything that happened.

You go home and try to remember what you did that day but nothing comes to mind, so you just hope that you didn't have homework and go back to bed.

One of the places that I want to go would have to be Barbados. there are a few reasons that I would want to go to Barbados, 1 of the reasons would be because it is always warm with some sun so there is a lot of stuff that you ca do because there is no rain or clouds or snow so the limits are much less than in Canada. There is alot of nice senery there with many water falls and forests just outside of the main city where the hotels are and the homes are so you are only a few minutes away from seeing beutiful outdoors with many animals. I think that the biggest reason I would want to go is because a guy who makes youtube videos that I like to watch came from there and likes to talk about it sometimes and it sounds great. After looking at pictures and reading about the history I think it would be really cool to see what it actually looks like for myself. So Barbados is the place that I would want to go out of every other place in the world.
